The Global Candidate AssessmentSM tool is one of several tools used to inform our candidate assessment process. It provides valuable data to help identify the best candidates for your company's global assignments. It will assess a candidate's own perception of his/her competence on each of the assessment items, and will enable the candidate's colleagues, supervisors and subordinates to evaluate the candidate on the same assessment items. In addition, the tool will generate reports that compare candidates against each other, compare self-assessments to 360 survey results, and display written comments by the candidate and his/her selected evaluators. The candidate and his/her current colleagues/supervisors/subordinates complete a survey on the web. The web tool has the following features: For the Candidate: For the Candidates' Colleagues/Supervisors/Subordinates: Summary Report Features When the surveys have been completed, the results are instantaneously compiled and an online "Candidate Summary Report" is generated. The components of the Summary Report include: There is also an Administrative function for this tool that can either be performed by Aperian Global or by an appointed HR person from the customer organization. An experienced Aperian Global consultant conducts a 3-hour interview with the candidate. Optionally, the candidate's spouse and/or significant other can also be involved in the interview. The interview covers areas such as motivation for taking an international assignment, challenges anticipated, relocation issues or concerns, assignment's impact on career, personal strengths and weaknesses, self-rating of ability to adjust/adapt abroad. Verbal Summary Report: Observations pertaining to each candidate's participation in the individual sessions are given verbally to the client's designated HR contact. Step Three: Candidate Meeting with HR Contact Following the online assessment and interview, the candidate meets with a designated HR contact to share his/her key learnings and give an indication of the current level of commitment to an international assignment. Step Four: Post-Assessment (Optional) Once the candidate has been accepted into a particular position, the candidate and the key persons he or she will be working with in the new position can take the GlobeSmart Assessment ProfileSM (GAPSM). The candidate will then be able to compare his/her Profile with the individual profiles of the persons that he or she will be working with. After completing the GAP, both the candidate and his/her new colleagues will each receive a report containing advice on how they can modify their behavior in order to be more effective in working with each other.
